Nine months ago I entered Amend Wellness, drug addicted and suffering from severe depression and a near successful suicide attempt. When I arrived I didn’t even want to live, but my family surrounded me with love and I wanted to get better for them.

Everyone from my therapist, to the chef supported me as I slowly came back to life. I received intensive treatment including individualized therapy, group therapy, step work, physical activity— you name it, it was provided. I had what they call “the gift of desperation” and I plunged into the program. I did all the things they asked of me, including attending a sober living for a few months upon completion of my 45 days in the facility.

I am happy to say, this place provided the foundation I needed to change my life. I still have a lot of healing that needs to be done, but I’ve committed myself to a therapist, psychiatrist, and medical doctor. I attend AA meetings, have a sponsor and work the steps. I take each day as it comes and I am grateful.

The way I feel and see myself is indescribable. I don’t wake up each day hating what I see in the mirror. I set boundaries and stuck to them. I take pride in the humble work I do, my home and my family. It’s like I have a whole new life. I can’t express how grateful I am to Amend Wellness and every person that I came into contact there. I want to live today, and they played a huge role in getting me there

I usually do not leave reviews but I feel compelled to leave this review since accessing mental health care in America is a dissapointment.
While this facility appears to be well put together my experience with Casey is quite disappointing. While speaking with Casey, I felt like I was speaking with a hard core car salesman trying to meet his daily quota. It's unfortunate to be regarded as possibly someone who has financial issues vs. an educated well insured black woman with questions. I reached back out to inquire about the price quote after speaking with my mother and after inquiring if the entire 20k had to be paid up front Casey advised that it did NOT and he asked how much can be paid. I was flustered. I am not haggling at auto nation. I'm tired. I thought Well sir, I'm asking you for a price, if it's up to me, just accept the deductible. SUDDENLY Casey advised the facility has a waitlist. Casey advised that he does not know "what's in the air but a lot of women need help" ...I can't. This is exactly why people are mentally tired, of PEOPLE. DO BETTER. And don't ever smack/chew/eat in a prospective client's ear over the phone again. *insert eye roll*

I owe a lot to Amend Wellness, the owners and its staff for the drastic turn for the better my life has taken since January 2024. Amend taught me how to live my life again and that recovery from drug addiction and mental health struggles is possible. From the moment I stepped foot in the door I was surrounded by people who wanted to help me help myself, to face my struggles and to grow from them. They showed me that recovery was possible and that’s because they are living examples of it. I’m lucky enough to now call many of the staff close friends, all of which played important roles in my treatment and are influential people in my life today. I believe Amend is so successful at helping people not just because it’s what they do but because they truly care. I’m fortunate to end up in a place like Amend and I’m extremely grateful for that.

This place was an amazing choice and I learned so much. All of the medical staff and the CA’s were great. Johnny and Austin were the best people to have on my side and Tina and Debbie were a great support system to keep us on track.

As I was there for 30 days, about 2 weeks in we got a new director, Lisa. I would only be cautious about this place because she took away all celebrations for completing the program, kept us in the dark about many things, and started to make decisions for us without our consent. They did do good about setting a schedule but a lot of us were not heard.

Amenities are great and I suggest checking it out!
